MARIETTA — Police are seeking suspects in two separate armed robberies that took place within 45 minutes of each other and just about 7 miles apart.

At about 8:15 p.m. Monday police say a man sitting inside his trailer home noticed the power from his generator suddenly went out. He stepped outside and saw someone carrying his generator away from his home at 1096 Atlanta Road, Marietta.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-7-inch black man with a medium build wearing dark clothing.

When the homeowner confronted the suspect, the suspect pulled up his shirt showing a handgun, according to police. The suspect then loaded the generator into a white minivan and drove away.

Officers found the generator nearby and returned it to the victim, but the suspect was not found.

About 45 minutes later at 9 p.m., Cobb Police say a man entered One Luv Smoke Shop, 579 Concord Road, Smyrna, and pointed a handgun demanding cash. The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction.

That suspect is described as a 6-foot black man last seen wearing a skeleton mask with a gray floppy hat.

Both robberies are still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to call (770) 499-3945.
