Authorities say a Powder Springs man faces two charges of felony child molestation after reportedly exposing himself to a 13-year-old girl, but he told police he was only doing so in an attempt to get her to leave the room.

Jerrett Lashane Hammond, 20, who resides at a Chasewind Court residence where the alleged incident took place, is accused of exposing himself to the girl, touching himself in front of her and asking her to come toward him, which she refused.

Police said Hammond drew the second count of child molestation for rubbing himself against the girl. When asked about the incident, Hammond told police he was preparing for a shower and the girl refused to leave the bathroom. He also claimed he touched the girl to get her to leave. He has been released from jail on $50,000 bond.
