An inmate in the Cobb county jail is accused of violently attacking another inmate on Saturday afternoon, causing possible facial disfigurement.

Corey Green of Marietta has been in the Cobb county jail since Feb. 11, when he was arrested off Six Flags Drive on charges of possession of cocaine, obstruction of a law enforcement officer and loitering.

At the time, Green was not granted a bond because he was considered a flight risk with ties to Florida.

At 11:30 a.m. Saturday, in a cell block in the north tower of the Cobb county jail, police say Green body-slammed fellow inmate Joshua Voss of Marietta onto the floor.

Police say Green then seriously disfigured Voss’s face by punching him multiple times, causing substantial swelling to his left check and a cut that required seven stitches, which will most likely result in permanent swelling.

Voss was also arrested Feb. 11 on charges of failure to appear, financial transaction card theft and purchase, possession, manufacture, distribution or sale of marijuana. He was not granted a bond for those charges.
