Smyrna man accused of firing shotgun while drunk

Authorities say a Smyrna man faces charges of discharging of a weapon near streets and discharge of a weapon under the influence for his actions the night of March 20. At 9:40 p.m., police say James Vincent fired a shotgun while standing in the middle of South Lea Court in Smyrna.

According to the police report, Vincent resides on the street and was intoxicated at the time, leading to the second charge.

One person was injured and the report states Vincent fired the gun “into the air.” He has been released on $5,000 bond.
