Read Baca scored the game winning goal with 5 minutes to play to lift Walker to 2-1 Area 7A victory over Mount Paran Christian in boys soccer Tuesday.

After a scoreless first half, Parker Smith scored 3 minutes into the second half. The goal was assisted by Kalim Kalla and gave Walker a 1-0 lead.

After Mount Paran tied the game, Baca scored the game winner with an assist from River Smith.

Harrison 4, Pebblebrook 0: Andrew Deltac scored two goals to lead the Hoyas to a Region 4AAAAAA victory.

Kyle Phlegar scored with an assist from Ethan Stolz, and Taylor Mathews added a goal.

Grayson Geurtin made four saves including one on a free kick to secure the shutout.

Hillgrove 2, Marietta 0: Both Hawks’ goals were scored by Mo Jallow in the second half.

Chip Nettina was credited with the shutout at goal.

Walton 1, Roswell 0: Shahean Barzegar assisted on Walker Nance’s first-half score as Walton remained undefeated on the season.

Michael Jurick had eight saves for the Raiders.

Lithia Springs 3, Allatoona 2: The Buccaneers lost for the first time this season on a Lithia Springs’ winning goal, which came with 18 seconds to play.

Hunter Baird scored on a header on a corner kick from Griff Rousseau in the eighth minute and led 1-0 at half.

Lithia Springs scored two straight to take the lead before Chance Pellerin tied it on a shot from 25 yards out with 1:20 left, but Lithia Springs quickly responded for the win.


Harrison 10, Pebblebrook 0:
In a game that ended at halftime due to the mercy-rule, Melissa Cameron had three goals for Harrison and Lauren D’Anbra had two.

Defender Paige Porter scored her first goal of the year on an assist from D’Anbra, and goalkeeper Allison Leone scored Harrison’s 10th on a penalty kick.

Walker 1, Mount Paran Christian 0: The Lady Wolverines scored nine minutes into the second half and that was enough for the Area 7A victory.

Nika Fendler scored from the top penalty box 9 minutes into the second half on an assist by Megan Turner.

Walker goalkeeper Honor Stoner finished with eight saves.

Kennesaw Mountain 3, Campbell 0: After a scoreless first half, the Lady Mustangs turned up the intensity in the second.

Olivia Guajardo had two of the three goals after intermission, with Tayler Hartrampf scoring the third. Cheyenne Golden, Maddy Giroir and Alli Culler each had assists.

Kell 6, Sequoyah 0: Tracey Webster had a hat trick as the Lady Longhorns won the Region 7AAAAA game handily.

Courtney Hendrickson had two goals, while Valery Fernandez also scored. Webster and Hendrickson each contributed assists as well.

North Cobb 6, McEachern 0: Molly Mead had two goals and an assist to lead the Lady Warriors to the Region 4AAAAAA win.

Shani Jefferon scored twice for North Cobb (4-5, 3-3), while Alexis Copeland and Alana Agcaoili each had one score. Abbie Duckett had an assist.

Tori Socia and Selina Abbott combined for the shutout. Abbott had three second-half saves.

Walton 3, Roswell 0: Walton scored twice in the second half to secure a Region 5AAAAAA home win.

Leigh Purinton scored in the first half off an assist from Olivia Eck. Kristen Loughran and Maddie Wellstead added insurance goals in the second half.

Peyton Ryan had four saves for the Lady Raiders.

Allatoona 10, Lithia Springs 0: Willough Davis logged four goals and two assists to pace Allatoona to the Region 5AAAAA home victory.

Ash Das had a goal and two assists for the Lady Buccaneers (9-2-1, 8-0), who led 7-0 at halftime. Aleiya Armstrong had a goal and an assist and three other players each had one goal.


Mount Paran Christian 6, King’s Ridge 0: Jake Palomaki pitched a complete-game shutout scattering six hits and striking out eight to pace the Eagles to a Region 6A victory.

Taylor Trammell was 2-for-4, Jack Rowland had a hit and two runs batted in and Landon Faulkner added a hit and an RBI.

Whitefield Academy 12, Trion 10: Whitefield Academy rebounded from a 6-2 first inning deficit to post a Region 6A victory over Trion.

The Wolfpack had 16 hits and scored twice in the first, three times in the second, four in the third and twice more in the fourth.

Bailey Combs batted 4-for-4 with three RBI, a double and a triple. Bradley Davidson was 3-for-5 with a solo home run. John Schwartz was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Matt Olson went 3-for-5 with four RBI.

Ryan Wesley (2-1) didn’t give up a run in 4 2/3 innings. He had eight strikeouts and allowed one hit for the Wolfpack.

Late Monday

North Cobb Christian 3, Trion 0:
Rabon Martin had a sacrifice fly from the plate and threw three scoreless innings of relief in the Region 6A game.

Josh Schibi had a pair of hits, while Zach Cornell and Chris Sander each had one.


Lassiter 8, Pope 4:
Philip Gerber scored three goals to lead the Trojans to a non-area victory of their east Cobb rivals.

Sam Perryman, Will McAllister and Janosh Spohner each had a goal and an assist. Matt Lavender and Zach Wittes added a goal and Parker Styles made 15 saves.


Harrison 23, Hillgrove 1:
Gabby Grizzle had five goals and an assist and Taylor Sutton had five goals and three assists to lead the Lady Hoyas in a one-sided Area 1AAAAAA win.

Katie Define had four goals and two assists and Emma Torney compiled a hat trick.

Lilly Chriszt had nine saves for the Lady Hoyas (8-4, 3-0).

Morgan Perrone accounted for Hillgrove’s only goal.

Walton 15, Centennial 9: Erin McBride collected six goals, while Kylie Holthaus, Hunter Corvin and Riley Ewing each had two scores to lead the Lady Raiders, who led 6-3 at halftime.

Sydney Baker and Meaghan Butler each had two assists. Three other players scored a goal.

Emily James had eight saves in the first half, while Kathryn Sweeden had three.


Hillgrove 3, Kennesaw Mountain 2:
Henry Squire won his singles match 6-4, 6-4 to help lead the Hawks to a Region 4AAAAAA victory.

The doubles teams secured the match when Joey Case and Davis Adams won 6-4, 6-0 and was followed by Jacob Cantrell and Andy Johnson winning 6-2, 6-1.

Lassiter 3, Cherokee 0: Jonathan Jemison won his singles match 6-1, 6-1 to help the Trojans beat the Warriors in the opening match of the Region 5AAAAAA tournament.

Brandon Wortkarotter and Ben Anderson won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles and Zach Littke-Smith and Nick Queen won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 to close the match.

Harrison 4, Marietta 1: The Hoyas were unable to pull out the win at No. 1 singles but won their remaining matches in straight sets to win the Region 4AAAAAA match.

Bradley Singh won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Whit Barfield prevailed 6-1, 6-4. Peter Heflin, Ben Maryland, Dylan Harvey and Matthew Griffin combined to lose four games at both doubles.

Marietta’s Zach Garrison won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 1 singles for Marietta’s only win.

Whitefield Academy 5, Fellowship Christian 0: The Wolfpack didn’t give up a set en route to their Area 4A win.

Justin Sample’s 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles was Whitefield’s closest match.

Also winning at singles were Matt Landry (6-1, 6-1) and Bennett Shilling (6-3, 6-0). At doubles, Jay Deshong and David Lemasters won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and Holden Hosch and Ruben Thomas won 6-2, 6-1.

Mount Paran Christian 4, St. Francis 1: Will Burton didn’t lose a game at No. 3 singles and Patrick Weindorfer only lost one at No. 1 to help keep Mount Paran (6-1, 4-0) undefeated in Area 4A.

Brent Foster and Adam Rothrock won 7-5, 6-2 at No. 1 doubles. Jared Knox and Ryan Sturz captured a 6-1, 6-2 triumph at No. 2.


McEachern 3, Campbell 2:
The Lady Indians won their singles matches when Kaila Hubert prevailed 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles to clinch the Region 4AAAAAA match.

Christian Wade claimed a 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and Areonna Neely won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2.

Whitefield Academy 5, Fellowhip Christian 0: Rachael Hicks was perfect at No. 1 singles, winning 6-0, 6-0 to help the Lady Wolfpack sweep the Area 4A match.

Kerry Lemasters was in a battle before winning her No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-4 and Annie Sickling won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3. Both of Whitefield’s doubles teams of Megan Schwarzkopf and Caroline Holliday and Charlotte Guerry and Callie Devaney lost just two games between them.

Mount Paran Christian 4, St. Francis 1: Mount Paran collected its first Area 4A victory of the season.

Mary Katherine Lewis dropped two games at No. 1 singles for the Lady Eagles (3-4, 1-3). Madison Darling won two tiebreaks at No. 2, while the duo of Emily Blom and Ashley Bilson captured an 8-0 pro set win at No. 2 doubles. Abby Darling and Anna Buehler won 6-1, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Allatoona 5, North Paulding 0: Kennedy Craig’s 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles capped a shutout for the Lady Buccaneers (12-3, 8-0) in their Region 5AAAAA road win.

Haley Proctor won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 2 singles, while Allison Whitley lost one game at No. 3. Lauren Lees and Erin Neves won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles and the team of Lindsey Stowell and Corrie Williams blanked their opponent at No. 2.
