Mrs. Priscilla “Penny” Steward, 70, of Marietta, passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2014. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 30 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta, Ga. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Priscilla was born to Robert and Margaret Olds on May 15, 1943. She graduated from North High School in Columbus and then went on to receive a degree in education from Bowling Green State University. Priscilla spent many years as a devoted teacher in both Ohio and in the Cobb County School District. Priscilla was a long time member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she was involved in the UMW and taught Sunday school. She loved to knit and garden and will always be remembered for her green thumb when it came to growing Orchids. Priscilla is preceded in death by her father, Robert Olds. She is survived by her loving husband of 48½ years, Jim; sons, Matt and his wife Sara and their son Callen, and Chad and his wife Christina; mother, Margaret of Santa Barbara; brother, Thomas Olds of Virginia; sister, Rosemary Kent of Los Angeles; and numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service was held in Ohio. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 1770 Johnson Ferry Road, Marietta, GA, 30062.
