Betty H. Howington, 84, passed away at her residence in Jefferson City, Tenn., on Sunday, March 16, 2014. She was formerly of Marietta.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. “Chet” Howington, and her parents, Isma and A.J. Hunter. Betty was an employee of Southern Bell for 35 years.  She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church on MacLand Road until she moved to Talbott, Tenn., in 2002, when she transferred her membership to Talbott Baptist Church. She moved to Chandler House in Jefferson City in 2010. Betty is survived by one stepson, Jack Howington, and his wife, Pat, son Tim and grandson Chris; many cousins, including Louella Eddleman; Vicky, Rachel and Evan Czupka; Don, Jan and Kimberly Eddleman; Bill and Carol Dow; Matt and Karen Kelley; Tim and Judy Ware; Donald and Paula Crouch; and Robert and Kaver Crouch; and many friends. Visitation will be held at Mayes Ward- Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta on Saturday, March 22, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. with a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
