A Marietta man has been charged with felony cocaine possession after police say he was found with a “white square rock” of suspected cocaine in his jacket pocket after police said he consented to a search.

Police stopped Murl McKenney Reese Sr., 60, of Marietta, while he was walking in the south-bound lane of McIntosh Avenue near McArthur Drive in Marietta.

Reese remains in jail without bond.

When are we going to quit locking people in a cage because of drugs?

You can send someone to the finest colleges in this country for what it cost to keep someone in jail.

He would have gotten off easier if he had been drunk driving down the highway, endangering everyone in his way and himself.

Now his life will be ruined.

Is it worth it to keep up the prison industry?
