On Feb. 25, two men and a woman walked into the Kay Jewelers at the Avenue at West Cobb, off Dallas Highway, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, jewelry and personal items.
No injuries were reported.
Cobb Police Sgt. Dana Pierce said officers believe the robbery is connected to two others that took place a Kay Jewelers store on Scenic Highway near Snellville and the Kay Jewelers at Atlantic Station.
Surveillance video from the three stores leads police to believe the robberies are related.
“They’re very similar in method of operation between the three,” Pierce said.
During the Cobb robbery, all three suspects fled on foot. Police searched around the area of the mall with dogs and heli-copters.
The suspects were described by Cobb Police as two black men and one black woman, ranging in age from 20 to 40 years old.
Security camera footage from the Kay Jewelers store shows the suspects looking at items in the display cases.
Two men drew handguns and began tying up the two female employees.
Pierce would not say if police have any suspects.
“It’s fair to say the investigators have a number of leads to follow up on, but we will not be specific about what those leads are,” he said.
Still, Pierce said Cobb officers are working with police in Fulton and Gwinnett counties to find those responsible.
“The other thought is that we are all working together as police agencies because of the uniqueness of these crimes in that that particular business (jewelry) has been affected,” Pierce said.
