Landon Faulkner pitched three no-hit innings and struck out nine to help lift Mount Paran Christian to a 7-3 victory over Fellowship on Monday.
The game was tied heading to the top of the seventh until Matt Norton’s bases-clearing double put Mount Paran Christian (8-0, 4-0 Region 6A) ahead to stay.
Norton finished the game 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, Jack Rowan was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Jake Palomacki and Reed Massi each added doubles.
Allatoona 11, South Paulding 1 (6 inn.): Pete Derkay’s grand slam in the fifth inning helped the Buccaneers break open a tight game and earn a Region 5AAAAA victory.
Allatoona (5-0, 3-0) scored nine runs in the inning.
Drew Swanson was 2-for-3 with an RBI, Derkay was 1-for-3 and drove in four and every starter had at least one hit.
Clarke Schmidt pitched a complete game allowing four hits and striking out eight.
North Cobb 8, Cherokee 4: North Cobb benefi tted from timely hits and solid defensive play.
The Warriors compiled 11 hits with Trevor Devine going 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Elijah Sepnieski was 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in the fifth inning that put the game out of reach. Tyler Martin was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Ryan Schmitz was 2-for-3 with a RBI.
Schmitz also picked up the win on the mound with two innings of relief pitching and Chad McClanahan picked up the save for the Warriors.
Pope 14, Sprayberry 8: Six first inning runs set the tone for the Greyhounds and added four more in the fifth to pull away in a Region 7AAAAA game against their east Cobb rival.
Pope scored all six first inning runs with two outs. Jacob Ramus and Parker Orr both had a two-run singles in the inning and Brett Lyles added an RBI hit.
Harrison Siegal was 2-for-4 with a double and a home run for Pope. Patrick Wiseman was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Mason Shiflett was 2-for-3 with a double and RBI. Orr was 2-for-4.
Michael Chavis was 3-for-4 for Sprayberry with two doubles. He also had an RBI and a run scored.
Pope (4-5, 3-1) will play at North Springs on Wednesday.
Walton 5, Etowah 0: Bella Kuse won her singles match 6-0, 6-0 to help lead the Lady Raiders to a sweep of a region match.
Jessica Cramer won 6-1, 6-1 and Kristen O’Brien 6-2, 6-4 in singles.
Suzanne Zenoni and Johanna Keeline won 6-1, 6-0, as did Sophia Goldberg and Erica Bauer 6-3, 6-2 in doubles.
Kell 3, Riverwood 2: Samantha Deering came from one set down to win her match and help the Lady Longhorns claim a Region 7AAAAA match.
Deering won 6-7, 6-1, 6-1, Katie Tarbell 6-3, 6-4, and doubles team Shelby Nyberg and Dani Carroll won 6-2, 6-3.
McEachern 3, South Cobb 2: The Lady Indians claimed both doubles matches and Areonna Neely won 6-2, 6-1 at No. 2 singles to seal the Region 4AAAAAA win.
Alexa Kernoodle and Raina Wright prevailed 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles for McEachern and Jaila Gladden and Kayla Hubert won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2.
South Cobb’s Adebola Damidele needed a threesetter to win 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 1 singles and sister Adevisi Damidele won 7-6 (1), 6-2 at No. 3.
Kennesaw Mountain 17, Sprayberry 4: Ryan Clark scored four goals as the Mustangs rolled over the Yellow Jackets.
Dennis Bell and Jackson Garner each had three goals. Josh Ehrlich made seven saves in goal.
Hillgrove 11, Whitewater 10: Morgan Perrone scored the game winner with 11 seconds to play to lift the Lady Hawks to victory.
After trailing 5-3 at the half, Perrone led the Hillgrove comeback scoring four goals and adding two assists. Olivia Ellis had two goals and an assist, Andrew Struberg had two goals and Katrina Caruso added a goal and an assist.
Allatoona 15, Carrollton 7: Bailey Wilson scored six goals to help the Lady Buccaneers earn a come-from-behind victory.
Allatoona trailed 5-4 at the half.
Kimberlyn Hughes scored five goals, Katie McNutt finished with four goals and Lexi Downing made 12 saves
Harrison 2, Hillgrove 0: Treva Aycock scored a goal and added an assist as the Lady Hoyas downed the Lady Hawks in region play.
Lizzy Sieracki scored the first goal on a cross from Aycock in the first half.
Aycock scored the second goal unassisted in the second half.
