ATLANTA — McEachern was held to nearly 30 points below its postseason scoring average, but it still won without a shadow of doubt Saturday night.

The Lady Indians trounced upstart South Forsyth in the Class AAAAAA semifinals at Georgia Tech’s McCamish Pavilion, winning 64-27.

McEachern (27-2) came into the game having averaged 93.3 points in the playoffs, including 104 — a state record for most points in girls playoff game — in a first-round romp of Rockdale County.

Now, the Lady Indians will have perhaps their biggest test of the year in Archer, for next Saturday’s championship game at the Macon Centreplex.

After South Forsyth center Ashley Hannan scored the first bucket of the game, McEachern responded with a 23-3 run to end the first quarter.

Despite the game getting out of hand in a heartbeat, Lady Indians coach Phyllis Arthur took note of her team’s attention to detail throughout the rest of the game.

“You can’t ask for any better contributions,” she said. “They were focused. There wasn’t any joking around. They were serious and had their game face on.”

Junior Te’a Cooper, playing in an arena she’ll visit often in the future as a North Carolina commitment, led the Lady Indians with 18 points.

Taylor Gordon started the scoring barrage for the Indians, compiling 11 of her 15 points in the first quarter of play. McEachern’s towering forward, Caliya Robinson, added 14, including two 3-pointers to start her scoring efforts. She also had four blocks.

Hannan spent a majority of the game on the bench in foul trouble, and the Lady Indians managed to contain South Forsyth’s best scorer, Sarah Myers, holding her to just 12 points.

Arthur explained what the dominating effort in a semifinal contest said about her program.

“It just says that we work hard every day,” she said. “Our practices are strenuous, and we’re always working.”

McEachern led 37-15 at halftime, and led as much as 50-19 in the fourth quarter. Aunesha Williams added eight points, while Jada Lewis had five and Declaria Daniels scored late for her lone basket.

After playing four games in eight days, McEachern will get a week off before the championship.

“It’s good that we get a week off. Our team has been playing a lot of ball lately,” Arthur said. “With the snow, we played six games in seven days, so we’re playing a lot of ball. It’s going to be good for them to get that rest.”

McEachern’s next opponent, Archer, beat Lowndes 78-67 in the earlier semifinal matchup. The Lady Tigers are 29-3, with two of their losses — like McEachern — coming in out-of-state showcases.

“They’re quick, they’re big, they’re strong and they can rebound,” Arthur said. “We’ve got to work on boxing out.”

All of you are just PLAIN MEAN AND JEALOUS.
Yeah, Stop It

Enough is enough people. Stop picking on McEachern. They have only done what they have been allowed to do. Apparently it is not against the rules to stalk a girl at an opposing high school for two years, buy her things, take her on college visits, and then eventually get guardianship of her. Apparently they have not broken the rules so deal with it. Either get in the game or be quiet, but stop wasting your time blogging on here because while you are blogging they are recruiting for next season.
Amen Whiners

I agree. Let the GHSA deal with McEachern for their cheating and let's stop all this negative blogging. We all know they are cheating but we don't want to hear about it everytime they play. We would all be a lot happier if we could just pretend like they aren't actually cheating, so please stop blogging about it and reminding everyone about the fact that they are cheating and the GHSA isn't doing anyting about it.

I agree. These negative whiners have turned me into a full blown Lady Indian fan. I hope they win the championship by 50! The Negative Nellies have never lived by the phrase, 'Less is More!' Instead, they hijack every single write up. It may be just 1 or 2 people using different names. All I know is that it's always: Oman, Coach Arthur, Dorsey, Jones, Kell Coaches, GHSA, cheating, investigation yawn, blah blah, yawn, blah blah.

Good luck to the Lady Indians!
I Am With You

I agree. I am becoming a big Indian fan to. At some point you whiners have to give up and admit that McEachern won. Coop has outsmarted everyone and that includes the GHSA. He has found a loophole and managed to build an all-star cast around his daughter and their aint a damn thing anyone can do about because if they could they would have after 6 months. What you should be doing is hiring Omar Cooper to teach you how to do it. He built some pretty good high school programs through his AAU connections and they haven't gotten in any trouble.
Negative Posters

YOU SUCK get over yourselves, you just mad cause they didn't come to your school!
Haters Suck
|
March 04, 2014
That's right. Stop hatin' and start cheatin' like us. It's all good! You just mad cause McCheatern University let they coaches and boosters cheat and yours doesnt. Dont hate da players, hate the game. You just mad cause we good at the game. If you was smart you would go do the same thing. You too busy complaining instead of recruiting. Just go coach an AAU team and there you go and when anyone asks you anyting just lie about it. Gotta go get ready for the State Finals, hater!
Not Really

We not be mad because she wouldn't have high enough test scores to get in our school and we only speak English here, not gibberish.
JUST STOP

March 03, 2014
Can you nasty posters please remember that these are kids you are running the ground? How do you think they will feel if they read your posts. No matter how you feel, STOP saying negative things. They are still kids and they are playing great ball. JUST STOP

Oh please. I haven't seen anyone post anything about any kids, just unethical adults. And what about my child? My child and her team had to get her butt kicked by the cheaters while they continue to celebrate every win. What about all the kids who are now sitting at home because the cheaters beat them. Let's not forget the adults who broke the rules: Omar Cooper and Coach Arthur.
Sooooo

March 04, 2014
@NW mom, since apparently you are an eye witness to the supposed recruiting that went on and have testified to knowing first hand and being present for all the conversations between Omar and Coach Arthur, let's not forget you were there when they interviewed the parents who told you directly that Omar influenced them along with all the other people involved to lie and cover up the truth. So with your eyewitness testimony GHSA should bring down the Wrath of God on McEachern. But nothing is happening so what does that mean...... It means you are just like every other negative person in here, you know nothing but rumors and hearsay. It's comical how many people start off their rants by saying I heard that this is such and such, and I heard that the Kell coaches blah blah, but none of you state you are a first hand witness, which in my opinion would be the parent of the transferred athlete and if he or she wants to move their child 5 billion times in one month who are any of you to say otherwise. I am a parent that moved one child from mceachern and one child plays for mceachern and it is absolutely none of your business as to the why. Go worry about your own school and your own kids and stop worrying about students that have nothing to do with your school or you!

Sooooo, it appears you have been living under a rock the past 6 months while all of this has been going on. Get caught up and then come back and blog. You just sound stupid! Maybe if the girl bowled you would have a point, but she plays on a team in a league with other team so when she is illegally recruited it affect everyone and is a violation of the league's rules. Anyway, nobody has a problem with the girl you idiot, they have a problem the guy who basically stalked her and took her to McEachern.
No Worries

March 04, 2014
Our school and most of the others follow the rules so their is nothing for me to worry about. So, I guess I will focus on your school, one of the few that is cheating.
Cobb Lawyer
|
March 03, 2014
Short of a lawsuit, the only thin that can be done is what people are doing, and that is talking about it and blogging. As long as the GHSA and Cobb County choose to do nothing, nothing will happen. Not many people care about this blog, so yor efforts are futile and annoying at best. I applaud your persistence, but I think the GHSA and Cobb have made it clear that they aren't acting on this.
Enough Already
|
March 03, 2014
Will someone at the county office or GHSa please report the findings of your investigation so all the haters on here will shut up. I am tired of hearing about this garbage every time McEachern plays. We all know they have a stacked team, but do we really need to ehar about it every week?
Great IDEA
|
March 02, 2014
I just read the last article's blogs on MCEachern and I think Mustard Seed has a great idea. Have an open invitation meeting at the finals in Macon for all those involved in the McEachern investigation and all those interested. If Cobb and the GHSA really want to do something about this, that would make sense. Unfortunately, we all know they really don't want to do anything which is why they have spread this out as much as possible and spoken to people separately. That is the way Cobb has always operated. The manipulate things to work out the way they want, not they way they should.
Cheaters in Finals
|
March 02, 2014
So Wheeler and McEachern make it to the finals, who would have guessed it? The two teams most known for recruiting through the AAU circuit have made it to the finals. Hey GHSA, how about you crack down on the brother/sister school of recruiting and regain the integrity of the game? I's is too late to reward the right people, but it is never to late to punish the right people. Do your job!
Wake up and...
|
March 03, 2014
If anyone cared about Wheeler recruiting, don't you think someone would have done something about it by now??? Now McEachern is just doing the same. The rules have been ignored for years and some schools have administrators that turn a blind eye to them while others don't. Get over it! Either start recruiting yourself or move on, but you are n't going to stop others from doing it.
GHSA Malfunction
|
March 05, 2014
The GHSA has no intention of cracking down on recruiting. According to the rules in place, the recruiter himself would have to confess to the GHSA in order for their to be a violation.

Everyone in Georgia kows that Omar Cooper is heavily involved in recruiting through AAu for McEachern and Wheeler and probably several others. He is a hired gun and he is very good at it because he has bamboozled everyone in Cobb and the GHSA.
Genius Here
|
March 02, 2014
There is nothing that would make me happier than to see McEachern lose ion the finals, but it really doesn't matter at this point. The GHSA and Cobb County have screwed things up so bad that there can't be a true winner anymore. The only slightly fair thing they can do is make McEachern forfeit everything and ban them from future playoffs. Rockdale, Brunswick, Douglas County, S. Fosyth, and not to mention all the teams in their region should all somehow share the title. Who knows how far each one of them would have gone if they hadn't been railroaded by the McFakers.

Arthur explained what the dominating effort in a semifinal contest said about her program.

“It just says that we work hard every day,” she said. “Our practices are strenuous, and we’re always working.”

The McEachern principal shouldn't allow Coach Arthur to speak to the media anymore. She has a team full of recruits and she wants everyone to believe she is winning because her team works hard. I guess maybe she has finally convinced herself she has done nothing wrong, including turning a blind eye to her number one recruiter, Mr. Coop.
