Alyworth joins Powder Springs

The City of Powder Springs named Stephanie Aylworth as their new economic development director. She will be tasked with business recruitment and retention, marketing and branding of the historic commercial district, aiding in tourism development, helping generate local jobs and creating a sense of place for city residents. She will also work with the Development Authority of Powder Springs and will assist in re-establishing the Downtown Development Authority. 

Previously, Aylworth worked with Douglasville's Main Street Program. She has been involved in downtown revitalization for more than six years and currently serves on the Georgia Downtown Association Board of Directors. She has a masters of public history degree with a concentration in historic commercial districts. She is a certified Downtown Development Professional and is currently pursuing a masters of public administration at the University of West Georgia.

Cobb-founded design company receives award

LMC Interior Designs of Acworth, 3717 Clear Lake Way in Acworth, was awarded "Best Of Houzz" by Houzz, the leading platform for home remodeling and design.

LMC Interior Designs, founded by local designer Lauren Colson in 2013, was chosen by the more than 16 million monthly users that comprise the Houzz community. 

The Best Of Houzz award is given in two categories - Customer Satisfaction and Design. Customer Satisfaction honors are determined by a variety of factors, including the number and quality of client reviews a professional received in 2013. Design award winners' work was the most popular among the more than 16 million monthly users on Houzz, known as "Houzzers," who saved more than 230 million professional images of home interiors and exteriors to their personal ideabooks via the Houzz site, iPad/iPhone app and Android app.

Winners will receive a "Best Of Houzz 2014" badge on their profiles, showing the Houzz community their commitment to excellence. These badges help homeowners identify popular and top-rated home professionals in every metro area on Houzz.

Decosimo names principal in health care practice

Decosimo, 2859 Paces Ferry Road SE in the Cumberland area, announced the appointment of David Cranford as a principal specializing in health care.

With more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive and financial manager in the health care field, Cranford served as a senior manager in Decosimo's health care practice prior to his appointment as a principal. Donovan Reporting announces new hire

Donovan Reporting & Video Conferencing, 237 Roswell St. in Marietta, welcomed Jennifer Hamon back to their staff of court reporters. After receiving an associate degree from DeKalb College, Hamon began studying court reporting at Brown College of Court Reporting and graduated in 2001. She joined Donovan Reporting early on in her career and after working with other reporting firms, she has returned to Donovan Reporting.

She is a Georgia Certified Court Reporter and holds the Registered Professional Reporter designation from the National Court Reporters Association.

Local graduates from FASTSIGNS sales boot camp

Kathryn Tardiff, a visual communications expert from FASTSIGNS of Kennesaw, 440 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway NW in Kennesaw, completed an extensive three-day Sales Boot Camp training program at the FASTSIGNS corporate headquarters in Dallas.
