Georgia Southern’s Jerick McKinnon continued to impress NFL personnel Sunday and was labeled as a top performer in four of physical tests conducted at the 2014 NFL Scouting Combine.

McKinnon, who topped the running backs group chart with 32 reps in the 225-lb. bench press Saturday, ranked second in the 40-yard dash, broad jump and vertical jump testing.

McKinnon’s 32 rep total tied him for eighth on the list of all offensive players tested this weekend.

The Marietta native and Sprayberry High School product finished with an official 4.41 in the 40-yard dash, good for sixth-best among all offensive players. McKinnon’s vertical jump of 40.5 inches and broad jump of 11-feet ranked third and sixth respectively, in comparison to all offensive players.

McKinnon is making a position change, although it won’t be that different. He played quarterback at Georgia Southern, but he was mainly a runner in the Eagles’ option attack.

McKinnon’s career numbers at Georgia Southern are 3,899 yards rushing and 42 touchdowns. He averaged 6.3 yards per carry.

As a thrower, McKinnon completed 42 percent of his passes for 829 yards and 12 touchdowns.
