Fay H. Ray, age 95, of Kennesaw, passed away February 19, 2014. Born in Dalton, GA, she was the daughter of the late Dollie Land and John Brackett. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Ray and daughter, Brenda F. Warnock; sisters, Louise Graham and Eunice Strickland and brothers, John C. Brackett and Charlie Brackett. She is survived by her sons Ernest Morgan (Lois) of Nolensville, TN, Darrell Morgan (Myra) of Kennesaw, Kenneth Ray (Teresa) of Calhoun, GA; and daughters, Janet Whitten (Ron) of Burlington, NC, and Kathy Smith (Jim) of Acworth; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Fay will be remembered for her strong will and self-reliant attitude. After the death of her husband, she learned to drive at age 57 and then got a job that she loved and worked at until she was age 73. She loved animals and shared her life with many treasured pets. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Saturday, February 22, 2014, at Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home, Kennesaw, GA, with funeral services to follow at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Georgia Memorial Park, Marietta, GA. The family wishes to express their thanks and gratitude to the staff at Wellington Place, Kennesaw, for the care they showed to Fay over the last two years, and to Agape Hospice for their compassion to her and support to her family over the last months of her life.
