The Volunteer Auxiliary of Emory-Adventist Hospital at Smyrna, which works with The Foundation of Emory-Adventist Hospital, recently presented three Microsoft Surface tablet computers to hospital departments at Emory-Adventist Hospital.
The donation of these new tablets helps the hospital successfully serve the needs of its community by staying up-to-date with the latest technology to provide the best services and care for patients. Barbara Kilgore, director of education at EAH, said “Our staff will be better able to educate patients about diabetes, wound care, and a host of other topics.
Patients will benefit from the ability to see what a nurse is speaking about.”
Director of Case Management Camille LoCoco said “The tablets will be an extremely useful tool for the Transition Care Coordinators in educating patients during their hospital stay at EAH, post-discharge and coordinating physician follow- up care. This education is extremely important in helping prevent hospital readmissions by providing patients with knowledge and resources to improve their health.”
