Hinojosa should have known better

DEAR EDITOR:

I don’t know who made the senseless decision not to close Cobb schools on Tuesday, but Superintendent Hinojosa is the one who was ultimately responsible. Why didn’t he heed the warning? I wish I could grade him on his decision. A person with a Ph.D. should have more foresight. Did he not consider the turmoil he would cause?

(As I write this), my son is stuck halfway to J.J. Daniels School to pick up his wife who is a teacher. It took him two hours from Kennesaw. He is a diabetic and doesn’t have his medicine. He doesn’t think he can get home in time as the busses didn’t make it to pick up their kids. That’s only one family. My grandson has a pregnant wife in Dallas and he’s stuck in Smyrna. One grandson didn’t go to school Tuesday because his mother didn’t think it was proper. Allatoona High called to say they marked him absent. I suppose that happened to many children today.

I see school is closed (Wednesday). It’s always good to close the barn after the horse gets out.
