I am sure Cobb School Superintendent Dr. Michael Hinojosa “wouldn’t have done anything differently” regarding his appalling comments in Wednesday’s MDJ. He was able to arrive home in a timely fashion, have a hot meal, a hot shower and sleep in his own bed.
Contrary to his opinion, his obligation was to spend that evening at a local school sleeping on a hard, cold gym floor and to support our students and faculty.
It is a disgrace for him to try and defend the ineptness on his part in not closing school the night before the storm. I watched the Weather Channel Monday evening and the forecast was quite foreboding. To err in judgment is understandable, but to not admit that poor judgment is unforgiveable.
Many thanks to the teachers, cafeteria workers, janitors, etc., who were there for the children who needed care and support during this trying time. A special shout out to a super dad who drove many hours to Marietta High to pick up his daughter and brought some other children home, my niece included.
