The Living Hope and Open Arms School of Fine Arts celebrates its first birthday on Feb. 4.

The School of Fine Arts was launched last February as a way to reach out to the community and support those in the church and school; provide art, music and vocal lessons at reasonable rates; and generate revenue to help fund events presented by Living Hope and Open Arms for children and families in the community.

Throughout its first year, the School of Fine Arts reached its goal of having 50 students and generated $4,000 to help fund events for children and families. Director Joy Schubert is hopeful that number will double by the second birthday of the School of Fine Arts.
