BlueLinx appoints president, CEO
BlueLinx Holdings Inc., 4300 Wildwood Parkway in Marietta, announced Mitchell B. Lewis has accepted the position of president and CEO effective Jan. 20.
Lewis is also appointed to the board of directors.
Lewis, 51, brings experience in the building products industry and a track record of driving growth. He most recently served as president and CEO of Euramax Holdings Inc., a leading international producer of metal and vinyl products sold to the residential repair and remodel, commercial construction and recreational vehicle markets primarily in North America and Europe.
He has held leadership positions in the building products industry since 1992.
EarthCon names new staff engineer
EarthCon's Southeastern Operations Leader/Principal Engineer Sherri Harvey, P.E. announced the addition of Samantha Woolf, E.I.T., as a staff engineer to the Atlanta EarthCon Team. EarthCon Consultants Inc. is at 1800 W. Oak Parkway in Marietta.
Woolf recently graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering. While at school, she designed rainwater harvesting and stormwater systems and conducted hydraulic analysis. Her focus courses included fluid mechanics, hydraulic engineering, hydrology, geotechnical engineering, hazardous substances engineering coastal engineering and civil engineering statistics.
EarthCon's 160-plus engineers, geologists, scientists, site managers and technicians operate out of 30-plus locations across North America.
NW Metro Atlanta Habitat New CEO
Former banking and finance executive David H. McGinnis takes over as President/CEO of NW Metro Atlanta Habitat for Humanity with the retirement of John R. Kerwood.
After an extensive national search the Affiliate's Board of Directors confirmed McGinnis in October as the new chief executive officer of the affiliate, which began building affordable housing in 1986 for local residents who might not otherwise qualify for a mortgage.
McGinnis has been a resident of Cobb County since June 1971 after graduating from West Georgia College. He has held executive positions in the corporate arenas of finance, management, real estate development and residential construction. He has been actively involved in the community, participating extensively as a member of the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce (graduate of Leadership Cobb and Chair 1988-1989), the Board of Directors of the Cobb Electrical Membership Cooperative, the Board of Trustees for Shorter University and for the Noonday Baptist Association and Foundation. His focus in business and in his personal life has been helping others to help themselves.
