Kara Anastasio Dameron, 42, of Acworth passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 peacefully at her mother’s home surrounded by her family and her love (David) after a 5 year courageous battle with cancer. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Marietta with Rev. Dr. Rusty Edwards officiating.  Interment will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Kara was born in Owensboro, KY on March 15, 1971.  She has lived in Georgia since 1982.  She graduated from R.L. Osborne High School in 1989 and attended Kennesaw State University. She worked at Assurant Inc. for 21 years.  Kara was very involved in Relay for Life.  Her passions in life were love for family and friends, music, art, love for animals (her sweet German Shepherd, Jack), and Kentucky Wildcats Basketball. Kara never met a stranger and she was an inspiration to every person in life that she touched.  Her beautiful smile was noticed and remembered by all who met her. Survivors include one son, Jacob Andrew Watson of Woodstock; her mother, Linda J. Mason (Nick) of Powder Springs; her father, Robert A. Anastasio of Sandy Springs; one brother, Robert S. Anastasio (Katie) of Dallas, GA; aunts, uncles and cousins from Maine, Kentucky, Florida and Mississippi; fiancé, David Perkerson of Austell, GA.
