Rick “Roc” Hedger, 68, of Kennesaw, Ga., passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014. Rick was born June 22, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo., and was a FFA member and graduate of Puxico High School’s class of 1963.  He was a sergeant in the US Marine Corps and served 3 tours in the Vietnam War.  He was awarded many medals from the US Marine Corps and also from the State of Missouri for his military service.  Following his years of service, he began a career as an aircraft mechanic, working for McDonald Douglas (Boeing) and then Lockheed Martin where he retired after 30 plus years. He was a life member of Puxico’s VFW and an active member of Towneview Baptist Church.  He enjoyed going to church, on mission trips and helping others.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Hedger and is survived by his son, David Hedger; daughter and son-in-law, Shanna and Troy Jennings; son, Floyd Hedger; 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 from 5p-7p with the funeral service on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at 10:30am at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta. Burial will be in Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with full military honors following the service.  770-428-1511
