Denise Ford, 45, of Mableton matched the first five numbers from the Dec. 27 Mega Millions drawing, winning a $1 million prize. Ford purchased the winning Quik Pik ticket at the Kroger store at 4715 S. Atlanta Road in Smyrna.

She claimed her prize on Jan. 9 at Georgia Lottery headquarters in Atlanta. The winning numbers from the Dec. 27 Mega Millions drawing were 4, 15, 35, 48, 49 and the Mega Ball was 11.

“I had no idea,” said Ford, who works in sales. “It was posted online, and I couldn’t believe it.”

Ford has an adult daughter and said she intends to fund a family trust with her winnings.

New Year, New Millionaire! What a great time to win. Meanwhile, if you're interested, I have my own little just-for-fun page which generates my personal quick pick numbers. As I say, it is strictly just for fun, but you never know your luck! Look out for VillaLibra if you want to see if you can locate it.
