A single-vehicle crash in Powder Springs on Friday has left a local man dead.

Nelson Zedkaia, 22, of Powder Springs was driving a maroon 2010 Honda Civic on C.H. James Parkway in Powder Springs at about 4 a.m. when he lost control of the car while navigating a right turn.

The driver’s side of the car collided with a utility pole at the northeast corner of the C.H. James Parkway and Hill Road intersection.

Zedkaia died from his injuries at Grady Hospital almost three hours later, according to a police news release.

Police do not believe alcohol or speed contributed to the crash.
