Stanley Quigg, 50, was arrested Dec. 29 at his home on Old Clay Street, just east of Atlanta Street off the 120 Loop, on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing a firefighter and a felony charge of aggravated assault with a weapon.
According to police reports, Quigg pulled out a BB gun in the presence of Chandara Sam, a firefighter with Marietta Fire Department, who was investigating a possible arson case.
“The firearm caused the fire department members to run away from the scene and leave their equipment behind,” the warrant said.
The incident was considered an assault with a deadly weapon used to intimidate a fire fighter, the warrant said. Quigg was released on a $15,000 bond the next day.
“(Quigg) did exhibit what appeared to be a firearm, which later turned out to be a BB gun … the BB gun was in the shape of an automatic 1911 handgun,” the warrant said.
