Mary Constance Rooney, of Woodstock, GA, died Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Kennestone Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Constance is survived by her devoted husband, Daniel Rooney; loving stepmother Annette Smith of Deland, Florida; her sister, Victoria Wells; brother, Steve Fleishel of Woodstock Georgia and Dan’s son, Mark Rooney. She also leaves behind her cherished nieces, Victoria Alexander and Ashley Rivera; and nephews, James Fleishel and Christian Wells. Constance was an 18 year resident of Woodstock, GA and lived in California and Canada since leaving her childhood home in Deland, Florida. She graduated from Stetson University and for many years directed marketing for her husband, Dan’s financial business. For Constance, family and friends were a passion and a source of constant delight. She loved to entertain and with her encyclopedic knowledge of movies and nonfiction, was ever the stimulating conversationalist. A talented seamstress, Constance perfected even the most challenging techniques to create a variety of garments for her nieces and grandchild. Perhaps her most striking ability was her facility with interior design. She could transform any room into a masterpiece of refinement and good taste.
