ACWORTH — On Dec. 23, Acworth police were contacted by security at a Wal-Mart on 3105 Cobb Parkway about six employees who were part of an alleged internal theft ring.

Wal-Mart’s loss prevention began noticing discrepancies in transactions involving these employees and began to work the case alongside detectives, according to Acworth Police.

Acworth Police said the six employees were involved in the theft of more than $6,000 in merchandise by voiding transactions at the register and allowing co-workers to exit the store without paying for all of the merchandise.

Acworth Police have charged the following with theft by deception: Beauford J. Goodrum, 21, of Kennesaw; Lamaris Denise Fields, 19, of Acworth; Shawn Allen Harris, 22, of Dallas; Jamecah Ania Ray, 19, of Acworth; Barbara Weston, 56, of Decatur; and Yashica Rene Campbell, 43, of Kennesaw.
