Prep roundup: Greyhounds turn back North Cobb

Cole Childers connected on six 3-pointers and scored a team-high 22 points as Pope defeated North Cobb 63-47 on the final day of Allatoona’s Lake City Classic on Monday.

Childers made three 3s and scored 11 points during a 26-12 third quarter run to allow the Greyhounds to take control of the game. Pope made six 3s in the period.

Chase Hutchins scored 14 points and Garrick DeBowles added 10 in the win.

The Greyhounds (9-4) will host Northview on Thursday.

Late Saturday

Campbell 75, Woodrow Wilson 74 (2 OT): Monty Daniel scored the game-winning free throw with 13 seconds to play in the second overtime to lift the Spartans to a victory in the title game of the Campbell Holiday Classic.

Laz Walker led the Spartans with 25 points, Randy McClure had 14, Michael Olmert finished with 11 points, nine assists and four steals, and Daniel added nine points, 11 rebounds and four blocks.

Campbell (6-7) will travel to North Cobb on Friday.
