Police report two armed robberies in Cobb

Cobb County Police announced two armed robberies that happened over the weekend in Cobb County.
An armed robbery occurred at the Family Dollar Store, 401 Six Flags Drive in Austell, on Sunday at 9:51 p.m. Police say a man entered the store and approached two employees with an item he was going to purchase before drawing a handgun. The man demanded money and fled from the area with the money in a small, maroon or burnt-orange, crossover-style SUV that displayed an out-of-state tag.
The suspect is described as a clean shaven, white man, between 20 and 25 years old, standing just over 5-foot-5 and weighing about 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red shirt, a red hooded sweat shirt, a red baseball cap, dark colored jeans and black and white Puma sneakers.
A second armed robbery occurred at Molina’s Check Cashing, 461 Windy Hill Road in Marietta, on Saturday at 8:30 p.m. Police say a man entered the business and began to fill out paperwork before pulling a handgun on an employee. After demanding and receiving money, the man fled from the business in a four-door, blue Mazda or Nissan car.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic man, between 20 and 30 years old, wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans.
