MARIETTA — Two Marietta men were arrested Dec. 20 on charges of possession of over one pound of THC, the psychoactive component of marijuana, with intent to distribute near two elementary schools.

John Walls, 33, and Zachary Crocker, 22, were arrested by the Marietta Police Department on Dec. 20 at a home on Terrydale Drive, a half mile from Sedalia Park Charter Elementary School off Lower Roswell Road, and a half mile from Powers Ferry Elementary School.

According to the police report, Walls had 1.14 pounds of tetrahydrocannabinol, a Schedule I controlled substance more commonly known as THC, in a backpack.

“A military dog tag identification was also found in a separate pocket of the same bag,” the warrant stated.

Police say Crocker had 13.6 grams of tetrahydrocannabinol, “a notebook containing slang narcotic terms and prices,” and “cylindrical glass pipe containing suspected methamphetamine residue,” in his bedroom, according to the warrant.

Walls was arrested on two felony charges for possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

Walls was given a $5,000 bond, but has not been released from the Cobb county jail.

Crocker was charged with the same two felonies, as well as two additional felonies, possession of methamphetamine and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute.

Crocker was given $10,000 bond and has not been released.
