Police say Stanley Thomas Bracy, who is homeless according to an arrest warrant, took $40 from a man Dec. 20 after telling him the cash would go toward needy children stranded on a church trip while visiting from Monroe, La.
Bracy is also accused of shoplifting chicken tenders, three Coca-Cola beverages, chicken wings and four “king size items” valued at $19.38 from the Wal-Mart at 210 Cobb Parkway, Marietta.
Police also say Bracy shoved another man in the chest while trying to flee the scene.
He is charged with misdemeanor theft by deception, theft by shoplifting and simple battery.
Bracy remains in jail but has been offered a $2,500 bond, according to jail records.
