Grace Louise Lenar, 90, of Sunrise at East Cobb Senior Living Facility in Marietta, Ga., formerly of 6 Conrad Avenue, Oil City, Pa., died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Monday, Dec. 23, 2013. The youngest daughter of Theodore and Lola Plaginos, she was born on Dec. 26, 1922 in Johnsonburg, Pa. Grace lived a full and active life. She enjoyed socializing with friends and family, golfing for many years at Wanango Country Club, and cheering for her beloved Pittsburgh Steelers and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. Those who knew her well fondly recall her zest for life and kind, loving way with everyone she met. Mrs. Lenar was a lifelong member of St. Stephens Church in Oil City where she was involved with many community outreach activities. She was a regular volunteer with the Oil City Chamber of Commerce and the Oil City Hospital. From 1962 to 1978 she owned Miladys dress shop in Oil City. She was a longtime resident of Oil City and wintered for over 25 years in Clearwater, Fla. She and her husband enjoyed cruises in the Caribbean and lazy days on the beach. She spent her final years in Marietta, Ga., where she was lovingly cared for by her son, Jeff and daughter-in-law, April. She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband of 54 years, Anthony P. Lenar and three siblings, Theodore, Imogene and Marie. Surviving are two sons, Anthony Lenar of Oil City, Pa., and Lake Wales, Fla.; Jeffrey Lenar and wife April of Marietta, Ga.; a former daughter-in-law, Barbara Street of Bristol, Tenn.; three grandsons, Jason Lenar and wife Amanda of Greenville, S.C.; First Lt. Jeffrey Lenar of Camp LeJune, N.C.; Nicholas Lenar of Atlanta, Ga.; and great-grandson Aiden Lenar of Greenville, S.C. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. December 30th, at Sunrise of East Cobb in Marietta, Ga., and in Oil City at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Venango County Humane Society or Oil City Public Library.
