Chairman of Housing Council named

Jim Chapman Communities, based at 2625 Cumberland Parkway SE in the Cumberland area, announced Kelly Dempsey, vice president of sales and marketing, was once again named chairman of the Atlanta 50+ Housing Council of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association for 2014.

As one of the nation’s largest 50+ councils, Dempsey’s role includes advising its board members and committees on membership, programs, advocacy, education and charity.

The last event of 2013 was Dec. 10 at the Cobb Galleria, 2 Galleria Parkway SE in the Cumberland area.

Members enjoyed networking and lunch followed by a presentation by Manny Gonzalez, principal with KTGY Group, Inc., Architecture + Planning. Gonzalez discussed universal design and how today’s active adults want to live at communities that provide amenities and convenient locations.
