Mr. Robert Douglas Beckett, age 75 of Kennesaw, GA passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 to be received into the loving arms of Jesus. The funeral service will be 11 AM Monday December 16th in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta. Born in Atlanta, Mr. Beckett was a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School for many years. Before his retirement, he was a Real Estate Broker and Land Developer for 50 years. He loved the game of golf and friendships with his golfing buddies. He was a member of the Da Boys of Campbell Group. Mr. Beckett is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Charles Beckett. Survivors Include his wife of 55 years, Catherine Voyles Beckett; Son- Robert Daniel Beckett of Powder Springs, GA; Daughter-Linda Beckett Weaver of Kennesaw, GA. Grandchildren- Paige and Mike White, Patti Beckett and Daryl Shropshire, Lauren Beckett and Mathurin Barbier, Katie and Michael Ludden, Christopher Weaver and Beth Cohen, Robbie Weaver and Charley Denmark and Allie Beckett. Great Grandchildren - Brandon Cudihy, Gavin and Lindsey White and Riley Ludden. Brothers- David and Sharon Beckett, Charles and Gail Beckett; Sisters- Barbara and Wayne Chafin, Bonnie Coyle; Brother-in-law- Don and Margie Voyles, Sister-in-law- Margaret Mitchell, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Sunday, December 15th at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta. (770)424-4924.
