One woman is dead and a biker seriously injured because of an Austell man’s reckless and drunken driving, according to police.

Cobb County police arrested Therman Kilcrease Oct. 29 on multiple charges, including first-degree homicide by vehicle, serious injury by vehicle, possession of cocaine, speeding, failure to maintain lane while driving, among others. Police say Kilcrease was driving his 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo at 86 mph in a 45 mph zone on Riverside Parkway.

According to the warrant, he was under the influence of both alcohol and drugs while driving northbound and failing to maintain a single lane. Kilcrease collided with a cyclist also traveling northbound causing spinal, neck and leg injuries to the victim and the death of Kilcrease’s passenger in the right front seat. Hospital records noted Kilcrease’s “smells of alcohol” upon admission, and a bag containing 3.5 grams of “suspected” cocaine was found at the scene.
