Tax breaks go up while schools decay

The pages of the MDJ of late are littered with stories about how multimillionaire members of the “good ole boy” network continue to receive tax breaks on their new promotions, while our schools continue the slide down the slippery slope to oblivion due to the lack of funds to educate our county’s children. Tax incentives for the wealthy continue to rise, resulting in more furlough days for our teachers, larger class sizes and less learning for our kids.

It is unbelievable to me how so many supposedly intelligent adults who have been placed in positions of authority in our cities, our counties and our state can continually fail to recognize the one irrefutable fact of life:

Unless our nation as a whole can find a way to provide all of its children, rich and poor alike, with an adequate education to insure that they will all have a reasonable chance to succeed in their lives, this nation called America, which so many of its citizens have risked their lives to preserve, will die.

Mr. Stoll sounds just like a progressive! Maybe you're on the wrong team, sir.

Which party is about corporate giveaways and which one is about better schools, better and more teachers and better infrastructure?

Answer: We just watched the GOP led Cobb Commission hand over $300 million of your tax dollars to the $17 BILLION Liberty Media corporation.

Foley: I'm not on any team. I am an independent. I don't consider the education of our children to be a game, like you evidently do.

I don't usually respond to your kind of antics, but I do want you to know about who doesn't care for educating our kids. No one does, that's who. I come from Chicago and I know all about how much the Democratic machine there cares for kids. The Democrats have been in power forever there and I believe it has to be the worst school district in the USA. So leave me alone.
