The Cumberland Community Improvement District will celebrate the commencement of groundbreaking improvements for U.S. Highway 41 between Paces Mill and Akers Mill roads Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Akers Mill Shopping Center, 2997 Cobb Parkway SE in the Cumberland area.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson will be the keynote speaker with special remarks from Mike Plant, the Atlanta Braves’ executive vice president of Business Operations.

The project is part of the $52 million in enhancements to the U.S. Highway 41 corridor. The improvements are intended to create long-term benefits for the Northwest Corridor including safer traffic flow and greater capacity for one of the CID’s major arteries.

How long are the people of Cobb County going to sit still for this crap?
