Elsie V. Dixon, 77, of Kennesaw, died Nov. 30, 2013. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2013, at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Macland Chapel, in Powder Springs, Ga., officiated by the Rev. David Blackwood. Interment will be in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park Cemetery, Marietta, Ga. Mrs. Dixon was born in Abingdon, Va. and moved to Cobb County in 1962. She and her husband owned and operated Powder Springs AMACO in early to late 1960s and early 1970s. She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Roger M. Dixon, of Kennesaw, Ga.; two sons, David A. Dixon, of Douglasville, Ga. and Billy J. Dixon, of Kennesaw, Ga.; three sisters, Imogene Gregory, of Abingdon, Va., Inez Pless, of Abingdon Va., and Arnette Moore, of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren, Scott Pritchett, Daniel Dixon, Heath Dixon, and Brooke Dixon; nine great-grandchildren.
