From Woodstock to Canton, and all the way up to Ball Ground, there are plenty of fresh growing trees to choose from.
Deerwoods Christmas Tree Farm has been operating in Ball Ground for 25 years and offers a large selection of trees customers can saw down themselves, along with plenty of precut trees of various varieties and sizes.
The cut-your-own trees go for $6 a foot, and with precut trees starting at $20, there are a range of options for customers to choose from.
Betty Hutson, who owns the farm with her husband, Richard, said the best part about operating the farm is “watching the children get so excited about picking out the tree, and then coming in to see Santa Claus.”
The farm is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until dark, and Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. until dark.
Hutson said they get a lot of great feedback on their trees, and said since they keep the precut trees in water, they tend to last longer.
Santa Claus welcomes visitors to Deerwoods Christmas Tree Farm on the weekends, usually between late morning and early afternoon, but Hutson said to call ahead for exact times each weekend.
The farm has tree stands available for purchase for those who need one, and they offer hot cider, hot chocolate, treats and hayrides to those wanting to make their journey to the farm a trip to remember.
Hutson said the farm is glad to help seniors cut down their own tree, and they also offer freshly made wreaths.
Deerwoods Christmas Tree Farm is at 1109 Henry Scott Road, in Ball Ground. It is situated in the Macedonia community and can be reached at (770) 479-1387.
