A Hungarian woman celebrated her 105th birthday Friday afternoon at a party thrown by her loving family.

Wilma Tako, is the oldest resident at the Presbyterian Village nursing home in Austell.

Tako’s niece, Ethel Ann Shaffer of Ohio, joined Tako’s great-grandniece, Sandee Wade of Smyrna, at the retirement community for the birthday party Friday afternoon.

Born in Vaszar, Hungary, Tako became a United States citizen and worked for many years as a nanny in Beverly Hills, caring for television actor Robert Wagner.

Tako said she attributes her long life to walking, swimming and drinking three glasses of milk every day.

“She reads aloud to everyone who wants to listen,” Shaffer said.

While in her late 70s, Tako took a bus trip across the United States, and has also visited Hawaii and Israel.
