Bicyclist killed on Franklin Road

A 53-year-old man who was riding his bicycle on Franklin Road was struck and killed by the driver of a 1996 Honda Civic at about 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

The bicyclist was riding on the sidewalk when for unknown reasons he lost control and fell off the bike, landing partially in the northbound lanes of Franklin Road, where he was struck and killed, police report.

Police are not releasing his name until the family is notified.
