Everybody wants the Braves. Now that the engagement is on, the city of Atlanta is scrambling to find some toys to put under the tree to keep the Braves. Fulton County, a day late and a dollar short, has jumped into the “Keep the Braves” party.

Cobb County Commissioners, bravo to you. Let’s get this marriage on and bring the Braves to a new home in Cobb County.

The 60 acres of enterprise the Braves are planning in the area will have innumerable economic benefits for Cobb County. This will jumpstart us right out of the tail end of the recession.

Oh yes, hopefully the County Commissioners will completely ignore the C.A.V.E. crowd (Citizens Against Virtually Everything) who pop up at every party complaining about the hors d’oeuvres and libations.

@Thomas: NO, not everyone wants the Braves. The BOC went ahead with this deal without contracting for any professional advice from anyone previously involved with a deal like this. The BOC is going to spend 300 million of OPs (other people's)money and none of the BOC members have ever been involved with anything this big. This entire transaction was shoved down our throats without due diligence.

Many in Cobb have called President Obama a "Socialist", Cobb county's involvement with the Braves is SOCIALISM!

To Lib in Cobb...YAWN. You're such a pathetic troll on the MDJ site. Such a negative Debbie Downer. You said you were moving out of state. When, for the love of God, will that be?

Oh the poor downtown square group. Give me, Give me, Give Me! Now you hope to better your pockets off the County Taxpayers too? Why not? You have been funded for years off the backs of City of Marietta Employees. With continual lowering of the millage rate and no pay plan in 20 years. City goes down on the millage rate and up on all the employee benefits. Burden of services has been passed on to those that provide it, not receive it.
Say What??

Last I looked Marietta has a pay plan. If you work you get paid! Besides what does your employee benefits have to do with the Braves?? Actually I suspect the cost of your benefits go up because of the increased usage by the employees. Actually, you should have said those that receive and use the benefits have to pay for it not the taxpayers.

GREAT letter, Mr. Browning. Short and to the point. I'm so proud of our Cobb County Commissioners and this amazing coup for our county. I can't wait to get this show on the road!
