Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Magic Flute

WHAT: The Kennesaw State University’s Opera Theater, with the KSU Symphony Orchestra, will present a staged concert performance of the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

WHEN: Nov. 15-16, 8 p.m.

14th Annual One Step Forward 5K for ALS

WHAT: The 14th Annual One Step Forward 5K for ALS will have a 5K that begins and ends at Neurosport Physical Therapy in Marietta and loop through Lower Roswell Road and Woodlawn Drive; and a Kids 1K Fun Run in the Woodlawn Commons Medical Complex. Participants can dress like their favorite hero. Best costume wins a prize. T-shirts will be available while supplies last. After the race there will be music, entertainment, refreshments and a raffle. Awards will be presented to winners in each age group. All proceeds benefit The ALS Association of Georgia.

17th Annual Whimsical Wares Art & Gift Show

WHAT: The 17th Annual Whimsical Wares Art & Gift Show will bring the work of 90 artists, including 14 artists from Marietta, to the Fountains of Olde Towne Shopping Center in east Cobb. The showcase features paintings, jewelry, pottery, furniture, textiles, apparel and mixed media at all price points. Featured artists include Barry Gregg, Adrina Richard, Lisa Jill Jewelry, Mickey Lynn Designs and Brooke Lowe. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to CURE Childhood Cancer, an organization focused on research for a cure and the improvement in the care, quality of life and survival rate of children with cancer.

WHAT: Taste of South Cobb will be held at the Mable House Amphitheater Complex will have a Taste Row; a Constellation Brands Wine Tasting; a Kids Corner; a First Responder’s Cook-off where fire fighters, EMS and police will have a cooking battle; Executive Chef Eric Spivey sponsoring WellStar Cobb Hospital Patients Eat Well with Farm Fresh Foods; and the following musical performances – Barbara Joy & Stevie Nicks Tribute Band at 11:30 a.m., Browne & Taylor at 1 p.m., Kerry Ayres & Rambunctious! at 2:30 p.m., Kayla Taylor & Retrograde at 4 p.m. and Gena Chambers & PhishSticks at 5:30 p.m.
