MARIETTA — The Marietta Fire Department arrested three people they say set fire to a vacant building, and charged them with two felony counts of burglary and arson.

Devon James Munday, 22, of Sugar Hill, was arrested Oct. 23 and was given a $5,000 bond, but has not been released.

Cody Weldon Kirby, 23, and Amethyst Joni Ronquillo, both of Marietta, were arrested Oct. 24, but have not been granted bond.

Kirby was also charged with probation violation and driving without a license, according to arrest reports.

According to the warrant, in the early morning of June 7, the three suspects entered a vacant property on Sandy Plains Road in Marietta, owned by Greater Atlanta Veterinary Medical Group, through the locked back door.

“The three individuals had discussed what it would be like to burn a building and decided to set the vacant structure on fire,” the warrant stated.

According to the warrant, they used gasoline brought with them from Munday’s home to accelerate the fire that they watched burn outside through the front window.
