A Night of the Arts

The Strand Theatre presents A Night of the Arts, sponsored by the Barnes Law Group and the Marietta Daily Journal, featuring a dk gallery exhibit, The Georgia Ballet, The Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theatre and the Strand Organ with Ron Carter with vocal performances by Catherine Moulton and Marc Patterson from Phantom of the Opera as the Strand welcomes guest composer Doug Hooker, Executive Director of the Atlanta Regional Commission, with Sinai Melange performed by the GSO Chamber Orchestra. Dress will be cocktail attire.

Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club’s Work Day

The Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club, a group of volunteers who assist the National Park Service (NPS) by maintaining the 20-plus miles of trails at the Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park, will have a volunteer trail work day. The NPS Volunteer Service Agreement is required. Parents must sign the Agreement if children are under 18 years old.

WHEN: Nov. 9 and Dec. 14, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

WHERE: Participants meet at the new parking lot on Old Highway 41.

Guy’s Grocery Games Challenge

In celebration of the TV show, “Guy’s Grocery Games,” the Food Network will host a grocery shopping competition at The Fresh Market in Marietta. Four contestants will test their shopping and culinary expertise for a chance to win $1,000 gift card from The Fresh Market. All contestants will receive a $50 gift card. A random shopper will be chosen as one of the four lucky contestants at the store from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Good Mews Holiday Décor Market

The Good Mews annual Holiday Décor Market will feature festive fall décor, collectibles, ornaments and tree trimmings, party platters and serving ware and knick-knacks. All proceeds benefit Good Mews, a local non-profit organization, which operates a volunteer-based, no-kill shelter for homeless, abused and abandoned cats.
