MARIETTA — A teenager was arrested at Marietta High School off Whitlock Avenue on the afternoon of Oct. 15 and charged with touching the “intimate body parts” of other teenagers, according to the Marietta Police Department.

Martez Maurice Smith Jr., of Marietta, was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of sexual battery after one of the victims provided a written statement about the incident, according to the warrant.

The statement said that while the victim was bent over a desk in physical education class on Oct. 11, Smith touched her inappropriately, according to the warrant.

Another girl provided a written statement that said as she walked past Smith on Oct. 15, he also touched her inappropriately, the warrant stated.

Smith admitted to the Marietta Police Department that he hit the girl in the face, the warrant said.

Smith was released two days later on a $2,500 bond.

This "teen" appears to have a pervasive pattern of inapropriate and abusive behavior towards others. I suspect that, if he is not dealt with now, we'll be reading about him again in a few more years...committing even more serious crimes.
