A new independent pharmacy, Artem Pharmaceutica, has opened at 595 Roswell Street, Suite D, in Marietta. Situated about two miles from the Kennestone Hospital and less than a mile from the Marietta Square, Artem Pharmaceutica is operated by Martin Wodi, who formerly worked in three states — Mississippi, New York and New Jersey — as a retail pharmacist with Rite Aid.
“We’re well placed to serve residents of Marietta and environs,” Wodi said of the site, which is at the corner of Roswell and Fairground street. This intersection hasn’t had a pharmacy since December 2011 when Apothecary Pharmacy closed, he said.
In addition to regular pharmacy services, Artem Pharmaceutica also fills specialty and compounded prescriptions such as Bio-identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (BHRT), topicals and other customized human and pet medications.
Wodi, 45, is an award-winning pharmacist with many years of experience. Among his many awards are the Top Pharmacologist in the U.S. – winter 2013, awarded by HealthTap.com and Favorite Pharmacist 2007 and 2009 Awards while at Rite Aid.
Wodi said he is passionate about helping his patients meet their health care needs and strives to explain complex health care issues in a simple, easy-to-understand way.
“Pharmacists are probably the most underutilized source of drug and health care information by patients, even though they are the most accessible health care professionals,” Wodi said. “I am never too busy to listen and proffer solutions and answers to my patients’ healthcare concerns and questions.”
The pharmacy accepts most prescription insurances including Medicaid and Medicare and offers free patient information consultation on asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, weight loss, etc. and delivery services to those who request it.
“Our goal is to provide excellent pharmacy services through intimate patient-pharmacy interaction not readily available in the chain pharmacies for optimum medication therapy management and outcomes as we look forward to serving the Marietta community,” Wodi said.
