Obama’s ploy to strip WWII veterans of their rights may backfire!

This Sunday, most people will not notice the large assemblage of veterans and their family members near the Obama-closed, chained and locked streetscape that is the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

They won’t notice because the American mainstream media, long in the bag as Obama PR hacks, won’t cover the event, which was planned by the group Special Operations Speaks and VetsMarch.com, first responders to the egregious and disturbing news last week that Obama gave our national Park Service instructions to “make this shutdown hurt,” especially for the elderly veterans and military families that he considers pawns in his petty dictatorial efforts to beat back opposing but legitimate groups of American lawmakers.

In fact, after the first day, when his park service turned Honor Flight groups away from the open air plaza (the memorial is a LANDSCAPE!) and told they could not view tributes to the very divisions they CREATED so long ago in order to save our world from tyranny and chaos, Obama and his government workers doubled down on their plans to “make it hurt.”

When veterans broke triumphantly through the crime scene tape on Day One (not all are in wheelchairs and on oxygen), the busy worker bees of the park service — may karma catch up to them one day — were instructed to erect metal barriers, wired together. Park Service German shepherds were brought out, shades of Hogan’s Heroes but not remotely funny. And one could easily visualize the petty occupant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue (who closed military commissaries but kept his beloved military golf course open) wringing his hands together and cackling, “Ha, I showed them” — a shallow, immature joke of a president whose understanding of the word sacrifice means inviting one less rap star to the latest White House soiree.

Meanwhile, as word of the memorial lockout leaked via Internet to veterans and their supporters across the country, port-o-johns were donated by private companies but were turned away by the power drunk and “unashamed” park rangers, new friends of VP Joe Biden, who twitted his support for their tactics (yes, twit). Liberal groups sent paid protestors to the area to try to counter the growing political damage to the president, but they were overshadowed by a large immigration rally, endorsed and allowed by Obama’s park goons and congressional Democrats at the nearby National Mall.

Obama’s message was clear: Illegal aliens can gather under the Constitution, but not veterans.

This last week, Americans (but somehow not the national media) saw the shameful proof of what we’ve known for a long time.

Obama and the Democrats hate the military, they infantilize, punish and use the troops as political pawns regularly.

But on Sunday, veterans plan to take back their turf by sheer numbers and a determination that the country they sacrificed for not be lost to petty tyrants and faceless bureaucrats. They rally NOT for Obamaphones, entitlements, special treatment or a political party. They rally for their brothers, for dignity, for honor, for America.

The Tea Party did just what we wanted them to do. Ted Cruz did win an election and he promised his supporters he would fight the healthcare law....and that is what he is doing. Our republican senators sold us down the river.

Johnny Isakson's comments show the disdain the old dinosaurs have for the young whippersnappers who are showing real leadership. He says he voted against Obamacare 68 times, but that's not leadership, is it? They are jealous because none of them had the guts to do what Ted Cruz did. And Johnny was too busy providing barbecue for his fellow senators (even the democrats) to speak out publicly when the Veterans couldn't get into their memorial areas. GOP ratings are so bad because even we loyal GOPers are so disgusted!!!

Thank you Laura, it was so nice to have you back. You have been missed, and I am certain that I am not the only one with that sentiment.

As the widow of a deceased Veteran you spoke for me. Our Vets are the last frontier to what is about to come down on us from the current administration. You are the voice of reason and truth. Please keep it up. Having been a subscriber for MANY years, I look forward to reading many more of your comments in the MDJ on a regular basis.

Thank you Laura and the patriotic Tea Party Freedom Fighters who love America so much that the only way they can save it, is to destroy it. Sometimes you just have to toss the baby out with the wash! The Government shut down and the resultant closures are the result of a small group in congress who hate government and would gladly destroy it if Obama does not capitulate to their demands. The real beauty is the so called party of individual responsibility will always find a way to blame someone else.

This column was not about the government shutdown, but about the arbitrary, cherry picked, punitive political decisions made by Obama and his staff that purposely tries to hurt so many Americans who ARE the givers, not the moochers. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right? Shutdown is just the excuse.

The real beauty of Obama's petty tantrum is that veterans and military families come in both Republican and Democratic flavors and this is going to hurt the communist/socialist/democrats in the end and Obama's legacy will be The President Who Hated the Troops, played cards during the Osama mission and Left Americans in Benghazi to die violently.

Nice parroting of the Dem talking points. Of course, we (who exactly is "we" again? Patriots who love the Constitution, the country and the ideals of freedom, liberty and those things our fathers -- my father, literally -- died for???) believe this baby, President Obama, MUST be tossed out with his horribly dirty, vile and oppressive bathwater! FORCING young families to pay thousands for health care coverage in order to pay for those who have none, sometimes by choice? FORCING the closure of the People's landmarks, just to "make it hurt" when he did not have to? Forcing longtime American companies and anyone else who's not a crony or bundler out of business? Setting the IRS on anyone who doesn't agree with his ideas? Abandoning our military and diplomats in battle, outing our special forces troops? This list is unending and throwing out this divisive, petty dictator-wanna be can't come soon enough. What's really rich, however, is an Obama defender who says it's conservatives who blame others. We've never seen a president in his second term actually try to blame his predecessor for all the horrible statistics and problems in this country -- until Obama. What a joke, your last line!

Among the nuttier opinion pieces I've seen lately. Between this and Roger Hines' "I love gay people but hate everything about them," cognitive dissonance piece, the MDJ is giving voice to some galactically stupid ideas. "Hate" the military? You're delusional. Haha!

Have you been hiding out under lately, Too Funny? Have you not read that Obama has forbidden even volunteer priests to hold Catholic services for the troops at Kings Bay and who knows how many other bases? Not even volunteers! He denied death benefits to those killed during the shutdown until badgered by Republicans and the American people to reinstate them. How many other factoids before you take off your Mooching Shoes and Sponge Bob Obama Pants? What a fool you low info voters are!
Too funny

October 14, 2013
Quit being so naive. Your idiotic Tea Party stunt kept the priest from starting and federal law prohibits other priets from volunteering. It's also your idiotic Tea Party anarchists who refuse to fund the government. It's disgusting.
Too funny

October 15, 2013
Haha! The willful ignorance among the Tea Party nuts is staggering. Surely you know that the Catholic priest's contract was held up due to Tea Party anarchy and surely you also know that federal law prohibits volunteering for these positions. Surely you know that the people responsible for denying death benefits are the Tea Party quacks that have held the government for ransom like common street criminals. Quit slurping at the trough of talk radio garbage and Fox “news” propaganda and pay attention.

Even when VOLUNTEER priests wanted to minister to the troops, the directive from the commander in chief was NO.

You cannot blame these punitive decisions on the shut down. America has lived through shut downs in the past, but not one president has tried to punish the troops and the veterans so greatly.

I'm a proud tea partier, believing in America's Constitution and equal protection under our laws, NOT anarchy as the Democrat talking points so ridiculously maintain. The majority of Tea Partiers, whom I've written about many times in the past are older, middle class people, hard working people, veterans and others who have worked hard to build America who refuse to tolerate the policies that are ruining America. I will always stand up for these people, with them, and will continue to answer back the liberal lies and name calling as you try to suck low information voters into your way of thinking. If the media wasn't in the bag for the libs, someone would've done surveys by now showing that the Tea Party is more educated, more intelligent with a higher degree of service to our country than the average American. I love it...the racist accusations didn't pan out for you guys, thanks to Andrew Breitbart fighting back with his large reward so now the meme is "anarchists." What a joke. You are scared to death of Americans who will fight for our Constitution, and must do your best to Alinskyize us all.

Kevin Foley will be glad to hear that Sarah Palin, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz were with the veterans this morning in the rain in D.C.

More history and sacrifice on that ground today than most people can imagine, these are the givers, not the takers and moochers.

Why are you so worried about me, Laura? You should be worried about the polls crashing down around the heads of Republicans thanks to the tea party.

Kevin, don't you ever finish reading anything? The polls are crashing down around Obama and the entire congress. Not just the Dems or the Republicans or the "TEA party". All of them.

Obama's approval rating is 37%.

Don't worry about the Obama PR hacks not covering the event. Michelle Bachmann and the Tea Party congressmen will be there with their camera crews to grab every bit of publicity they can get off these servicemen.
