Bill Atkins is 80 years old and still going strong! Atkins celebrated his birthday in typical style with multiple celebrations including an ice cream social with his Sunday School Class at Macland Baptist Church. Bill’s wife, Jennifer Atkins, prepared a special chocolate cake. Next, “da boys of Campbell (High School)” celebrated Atkins at their monthly meeting at Howard’s Restaurant in Smyrna with cupcakes (85 baked by Jennifer). Then he celebrated again with his “Soul Brothers” at their monthly meeting at Longhorn’s where they enjoyed fresh peach pies.

The family finally got in on the birthday action at Atkins’ home where a Mexican buffet with all the trimmings was held. Jennifer and daughters Paige Post and Stacy Yarbrough hosted the party.

Well-wishers included siblings Harriett and Gene Atkins, Charlene Atkins Gill and her husband, Bob, Ann and Gary Atkins, and Babe Atkins-Byrne and husband Bill.

Along with grandchildren Kay and Jim Moss, grandchildren Ari, Ryder and Tanner Post and their father Dan Post; Justin Yarbrough; and special guest Bill’s mother-in-law Shirley McGahan.
