Not only did Reilly dominate from the circle, striking out 14, but she also prospered at the plate, reaching base three times on a double and two walks. She also drove in a run.
Emily Harrell also had a hit and two walks, scoring twice, while Anna Buehler tripled and drove in a pair of runs.
Mount Paran (8-12-1, 2-3 Region 6A) will open the region tournament as the No. 3 seed of the eastern subregion and will face Mount Zion-Carroll, No. 2 from the west, on Monday at Joe Cowan Park in Cartersville.
Pope 8, Dunwoody 0 (5 inn.): Kelly Barnhill (6-0) pitched a no-hitter and struck out 15 of the 16 batters she faced in leading the Lady Greyhounds to the non-region road win.
The season-ending victory marked the Lady Greyhounds’ third straight season with 20 or more wins.
Nine batters came to the plate in Pope’s five-run first inning. The Lady Greyhounds (20-8), who had eight hits, added two runs in the second and one more in the third.
Pope had five extra-base hits in the contest.
Katie Deady was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Sydney Segers and Ellyn Strother each had a two-run double. Ellie Viland posted an RBI double, while Megan Metzinger had an RBI single. Lindsey Monkiewicz had a double as well.
Pope will be the No. 3 seed entering the Region 7AAAAA tournament, facing the winner of a Saturday game involving two of the region’s lower-seeded teams.
Marietta 7, Westlake 3: Taylor Hartenbach pitched and slugged the Lady Blue Devils to victory in their non-region finale to the regular season.
Hartenbach struck out 14 from the circle and batted 4-for-4 with a triple, scored four times and drove in a run.
Synclaire Scott and Bria Gober each had two hits and an RBI, while Lacey Mount drove in a pair of runs. K.C. Nugent also had an RBI, and Liz Osburn scored a run.
Marietta (6-14) will be the No. 6 seed as it faces No. 7 McEachern in a first-round game of the Region 4AAAAAA tournament Monday at Harrison.
Sprayberry 8, McEachern 0 (6 inn.): Charlie Smith pitched a complete-game four-hitter as the the Lady Yellow Jackets closed out regular-season play with a non-region victory.
Smith struck out 13 batters, and she also went 3-for-4 with three RBIs.
Kierston Moore went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, while Katie Reed drove in two.
Sprayberry (12-15) will open the Region 7AAAAA tournament Monday against Forsyth Central.
Whitefield earns sweep: The Lady Wolfpack swept Our Lady of Mercy (25-22, 25-22) and King’s Ridge Christian (19-25, 25-18, 25-20) at home.
Kelsey Butler had 10 aces, 14 digs and 12 kills for Whitefield. Olivia Nicholas added seven kills, while Anna Long had 12. Kate MacPhail dished out 37 assists and Natalie Bell totaled 12 digs.
Whitefield will travel to Walker on Tuesday for an Area 4A tri-match with Mount Paran Christian.
Walker splits: The Lady Wolverines came away with a split against some of the top Class A teams in the state on senior night.
Walker (26-8), which honored seniors Anna Chocallo, Lucy Rittenberg and Gracie Yarborough, beat Holy Innocents’ (27-25, 25-23), but it lost to Landmark Christian (25-23, 25-20) in the nightcap.
Chocallo finished with 20 digs, while Brooke Warner had 16 kills, five aces, five blocks and 10 digs. Sasha Fazylov added 13 kills and Holland Martin and Erin Leavell each had 20 assists.
Walker, which will host a play date Saturday with five other teams, raised over $2,000 for its Dig Pink Night on Thursday.
