Ann Lee Balogun was arrested Sept. 28 on charges of first-degree cruelty to children and was released two days later on a $5,000 bond.

According to the warrant, she used a golf club to hit and poke a child in the stomach, eventually causing the club to break in half.

“During the struggle, the victim attempted to defend himself by grabbing the golf club, but due to the exposed sharp aluminum he received a laceration to his left finger and the top of his right hand,” the warrant states. “Both lacerations were approximately 2 inches in length.”
